Witches, clowns, and more return to play the series' greatest hits At least where American Horror Story is concerned, 13 looks like it'll be a lucky number. FX has released an official trailer for season 13 of its anthology horror show, and it teases a plethora of returning cast members reprising multiple roles from the series' past to face an ultimate evil. American Horror Story: 13 (the subtitle keeps it simple) will premiere on Sept. 24 and consist of 13 episodes. One of the biggest draws of the upcoming season is the return of Jessica Lange. The legendary actress used to be one of the series' stars, but hasn't appeared since season 8, in which she only had a cameo. Season 13 will bring her back in a big way, as the trailer teases her reprising roles from the first four seasons of American Horror Story. She'll be joined by other series regulars Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters, who are also reprising multiple past roles. The cast will be filled out by plenty more returning faces, from Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett to Emma Roberts and Billie Lourd, but the full list of confirmed cast members is truly massive. A particular standout, however, is Paul Anthony Kelly, Paul Anthony Kelly, fresh from Ryan Murphy's recent Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette. Murphy is also the creator of American Horror Story. The upcoming season seems to center around the witches from American Horror Story: Coven.
